Hey, folks.
Wednesday is here. Hubby starts his new job one week from today. Praise the Lord!!
He's pretty excited, but I think he's going to miss all the time he was able to spend with the kiddos, and the flexibility of being able to run here and there at will.
Well, it's a rainy, rainy day here. We were supposed to play t-ball on Monday, but the field was still too muddy from rain we had over the weekend, and today looks like another rain-out . . . which is kind of funny because the game tonight was supposed to be a make-up game that was rained-out two weeks ago.
Oh, well.
I guess that's spring time for ya. And while I'm disappointed about missing the games, I'm very pleased with the rain for the crops in our area. Much of the wheat this year was ruined by a late freeze and hail, but some of it is still okay, and I hope the rain helps instead of hurts this year.
Other than that, I guess we've got another busy day ahead of us.
Hope your week is going well.

Taking on the Mountain
Good morning, all.
It's Monday again, and we are off to a busy start, as usual.
Today I have a mountain of laundry to tackle. I went into the boys room last night to grab their pajamas, which they have a tendency to move their clothes from one drawer to another, don't ask me why because I haven't figured it out yet, and I went on the hunt for the elusive bottoms.
But it didn't take long to realize their dresser was almost completely devoid of clothing, save the jammie pants.
What happened to all their clothes?
Well, that's the mountain I'm referring to. Over the last week, and the weekend, they have been getting dressed in their school clothes, then coming home and changing into play clothes.
Yay! They're finally learning.
Except . . . they've been changing play clothes three times a night. First when they get home, then after they've played for a couple of hours, then again after they come in for the night.
Even after the mountain o'laundry formed, I still didn't realize where all the clothes were coming from. But as we've been transitioning into warmer weather, all the jeans and long-sleeve shirts have been joined by shorts and t-shirts.
So that will be my major task of the day . . . tackling the mountain.
Then we've got t-ball tonight, but with all the rain they might cancel, so we'll see.
Anyway, I hope you all have a great week.
Later.
P.S. A quick bunny update: the little guys have been moved by their mama, and we wish them well at their new home, wherever that may be.

Busy Little Bees and Birthday Wishes
Hey, folks.
It's Friday. YAY!!!
We are heading into a busy weekend, and also a busy next week.
Tomorrow I have a writers meeting in Edmond, and will be there early to help set up for the guest speaker. Then I have to rush back home for t-ball practice, and an evening of wild 5 year old antics.
On Sunday, we are headed for Bricktown to meet up with my husband's former boss from Arkansas, who is visiting OKC for a conference. It will be nice to see her again. She was always a very kind and generous person while hubby worked at UAMS, and they have kept in touch since we moved back to Oklahoma.
So we'll be spending most of the weekend on the go, and then Monday night we have a t-ball game, Wednesday we're meeting another of Scott's former co-workers (this one from OG&E), and heading to another t-ball game that evening.
And somewhere in there we're trying to clean the house, dig out new flower beds by the front porch, and I'm trying to get a major chunk of a book written.
Whew!
But, I have every confidence we'll get it all done . . . well, maybe not all of it, but most of it, and we might even be able to keep our sanity in the process. We'll see.
And also, I would like to tell my mother-in-law, Carla Stewart . . . HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!!!! I hope you enjoy your special day, and be sure Max takes you someplace wonderful for dinner!
Have fun this weekend, everybody!

Bunny Adventures
Good morning, everyone.
I hope you're having a great week, or if not, I at least hope it goes by quickly to get to the weekend.
Well, we had an interesting "bunny adventure" last night. Yesterday our next door neighbors had a service come and mow their lawn for them. And this isn't said in a bad way, but some of the grass on the side of their house had grown pretty tall (and I promise, you should have seen ours before we mowed on Monday night).
Anyway, while the guy was mowing, he uncovered a nest of baby rabbits.
The neighbors found it when they came home from work last night and showed it to our sons, who thought it was one of the coolest things they'd ever seen.
So then we showed it to the other little boy who lives on the other side of us, who thought it was awesome, too.
And I have to say, those little bunnies were SOOOOOO cute. There were at least 4-5 of them snuggled down in this hole, all fuzzy and sweet. Too cute!
Anyway, by this point the nest, which was covered with a HUGE wad of fuzzy, fluffy shedded fur, had been disturbed at least 3, if not 4, times. So being the worry-wart that I am, I began to wonder if the mama rabbit would come back if she smelled so many human scents around her hiding place.
And as a disclaimer, no, I am not an expert (or even a novice) at animal behavior. I don't know if rabbits are scared off by scents, sights, sounds; one or the other of these; or a combination of the three.
So as we all sat outside during the evening, the kids playing on the trampoline, and the adults sat on the patio chairs, a little rabbit appeared near our back fence and started making its way across the yard. We all became convinced this must be the mama coming back to feed her babies, and waited to see if she would go to them.
Unfortunately, another back neighbors' dog caught sight of the rabbit, charged to the fence, and scared the rabbit back into hiding.
This happened three times before the dog finally went in for the night.
By this time I was beginning to wonder if the rabbit would ever get across the yard, but finally she came back out. Most of our family had given up on the Great Rabbit Watch, but Twin A stayed with me the whole time to make sure that mama found her babies.
Only, the rabbit didn't go for the nest. She hopped across the yard, and then headed for a field between two other houses.
This definitely worried Twin A, and me, too. Where was she going? Was she coming back? Would she find the babies? What would happen to the babies if she didn't come back? My son hammered me with questions, and I answered the best I could.
Then we went in for the night.
My son sat at the window in his room, watching the spot where he thought the nest was (by this time it was dark outside so he coudn't see anything), and waited for the mama to come back.
So then I called my mom to see if she knew anything about the habits of rabbits, and finally did an internet search to find out what to do.
A simple and brilliant plan was then formed, which my son wholeheartedly concurred with: place two small sticks over the fur covering the nest. If the sticks had been moved in the morning, we would know the mama had been back to feed her babies. If the sticks were still there, we'd need to take the babies to the vet because the mama had probably abandonded them.
Great plan.
And I am proud to report that as of this morning, the sticks were moved off the cover. YAY!
I was seriously concerned about this. Mostly because I just couldn't stand to let the poor little things starve to death, but also because my son was sooooooo concerned for their well being, too. He has such a tender heart, and I would have been forced to lie to him about what happened to the bunnies before I told him they had died.
But fortunately that didn't happen, and the baby bunnies are just fine.
And so goes another day in our lives.
The crazy things that get us all in a bother. Oh, well.

Hi, everyone.
I hope your week has gotten off to a great start.
All the boys came home last night, and I was surprised how much I missed them. I was VERY glad for the relative peace and quiet while they were gone, with only the Princess and I puttering around the house, but it was great to see the twins smiling faces and to hear their excited chatter about all the fun they had with their cousins.
Poor hubby, however, looked flat and worn-out. I think the expression "hit by a Mack truck" is an understatement in his case. It was a mega-testosterone weekend for them, and I think it wore him down.
But I know they all had fun, they went to see hubby's Grandpa (who is a hoot and a half), and had more adventures than they could tell me in one sitting.
And now, the boys are back in school, hubby is recuperating, and it's back to business as usual at our house.
Hope y'all have a great week.

Hello, all.
It's Friday. Woohoo!
Well, today all my boys (hubby and sons) are headed for the Texas panhandle for a visit with hubby's brother, who also has two boys. It's going to be a testosterone-filled weekend and I am going to be staying home with the Princess to work on a manuscript.
We've also had some good news, that hubby has had a job offer. It's not exactly what we were hoping for, but it's a good company and we're happy our prayers have been answered.
And now, I guess I need to help get the kids clothes packed and the house picked up so it will be an easy weekend for me and the baby.
Have a good weekend and stay safe.

Hey folks.
Well, we have so much going on lately, it's hard to know where to start.
My sister-in-law, Allison Garner Stewart, is an auntie. Her brother and his wife welcomed a beautiful baby girl into the world yesterday. Congrats to the happy parents and grandparents!! I know she will be one of the most beautiful, spoiled little girls in the world (as she should be!!).
The twins were supposed to have their first t-ball game of the year yesterday, but the recent storms made the field too muddy. We're supposed to play another game tomorrow, but the weather looks like it might cause more problems before we can play.
And I am going to be very unhappy if we don't get to take full advantage of t-ball this year because I feel like we've spent a small fortune on registration, uniforms, and other t-ball related junk. So missing all these game (which probably won't all be made up) is bothering me.
Today is tax day. Boo. Don't like taxes, but not going to a tea party, either. It's just the way it is.
We're probably going to get groceries soon, and we're also hoping to hear about a job possibility for Scott soon, so keep your fingers crossed.
And I guess that's it for now. Talk to y'all on Friday.
